As a member of the Rackspace Cloud Professional Services team, I’ve afforded the chance to learn and build out solutions specifically for a Virtual Private Server environment. Implementing clustered solutions for customers as big as Domino’s Pizza, and as small as any one server up start.

Rackspace Cloud Hosting

Title: Level 2 Technician

Joining the newly formed Cloud Servers team within the Cloud Hosting department of Rackspace I help along with the other members of the team to define the role, and am critical in the molding of the product for our users. I’ve created technical articles to help both experienced and novice users to make their solution work on our environment, which implements a virtual private server as well as a shared hosting solution. As part of the responsibilities of this role I served as a point of escalation for the Shared Hosting environment Cloud Sites, and a training medium for lower technicians through mentoring and other means.

Rackspace Managed Hosting

Title: Linux Support Fanatic Lvl2

As a technician with the Managed Server division, I watched Rackspace grow from an up and coming player to one of the major leaders in their field. I started this position as a Level 1 technician then grew and matured my Linux background in MySQL, Apache and other open source software necessary to the role to be considered a Level 2 on the team. We worked in a fast paced environment of customer support that involves email, a ticketing system and personal phone calls that engage our customers and create a loyalty that is solid and long lasting. As a requirement we are constantly broadening our knowledge to help further assist and wow our customers.

In this small business environment I wore many hats, which included book keeper, sales, IT department and site developer. The company at the time had two e-commerce sites, one selling credit card processing equipment the other selling paper products.
